Is Byzantine Catholic the same as Roman Catholic?

Catholic is just Catholic. Byzantine Catholic refers to their Rite (the language their sacraments are in, etc.) There is no such thing as “Roman Catholic” even though many use the term as a short cut way of referring to Latin Rite Catholics. But actually, the term “Roman Catholic” began as a SLUR in England after the Protestant revolt in the 16th century.
