Interdenominational Christian in an ecumenical consortium of fellowships
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers
To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”
Eph. 4:11, 12 NIV
EMMI Interdenominational or inter-denominational is a Christian ecumenical consortium of fellowships who incorporate expressions stemming from several denominations, from fundamentalist to very liberal theology and philosophy. Declaring yourself interdenominational, churches or parachurch partners desire to embrace people from many branches of Christianity, in respect and humility.
Interdenominational churches are often confused with interfaith churches, a huge difference exists between these two kinds of congregations. Christian denominations like Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, etc. are all part of the same Christian faith. An interdenominational partnership of congregations of different denominational backgrounds shares in a common core of Christian doctrine.
We are a three continents network of churches partners and/or pastors helping with the mission of strengthening Christian Mission by upholding standards of operation, assuring integrity and cooperative resourcing to spread the gospel under an Independent United Methodist and Baptist Organisation with an ecclesiastical connexional polity.
As an interdenominational organism, our form of government is known as Semi-Episcopal and Semi-Congregational, the congregations set up its own rules and are partially autonomous. The executive director and pastor exert a great degree of influence over the beliefs and direction of his own congregation. Our denominational churches are formally affiliated with other member churches. All denominations subscribe to the Ecumenical Creeds, but practices are very different. Note our organism is interdenominational not our church’s members.
Ecumenical creeds is an umbrella term used in Eric Michel Ministries International to refer to the Nicene Creed, the Apostles’ Creed and, less commonly, the Athanasian Creed.
The ecumenical creeds are also known as the universal creeds. These creeds are accepted by almost all mainstream Christian denominations in the West, including Reformed churches, the Roman Catholic Church, Anglican churches and Lutheran churches. Many Methodist churches accept the Nicene Creed and Apostles’ Creed. The Eastern Orthodox Church accepts the Nicene Creed but does not use the Apostles’ Creed or the Athanasian Creed.
A creed by definition is a summary or statement of what one believes. It originates from the Latin credo meaning “I believe”. The purpose of a creed is to act as a yardstick of correct belief. A creed is an epitome, not a full definition, of what is required for orthodoxy. It was hoped that by memorizing this summary of the faith, lay people without extensive theological training would still be able to recognize deviations from orthodox doctrines based on the Bible as interpreted in the Christian tradition. The term ecumenical can refer to efforts by Christians of different church traditions to develop closer relationships and better understandings. The term is also often used to refer to efforts towards the visible and organic unity of different
Christian churches in some form
Eric Michel Ministries International saw his first day on August 3rd, 2010 and the Chaplaincy on July 30Th, 2011. We changed names over the years, but our faith was kept and the main line of thoughts through diverse expand to other countries. On July 25, 2010. Rev Eric Michel Founder and the Rev T.T. Wally Bishop also present Rev Sue Ann Miner as board secretary, agreed unanimously to the change and became EMMI of today. We required restructuring in order to maximize our believer potential and get rid of a structure that was no longer profitable.
We are a very liberal Christian corporation founded upon Baptist principles. We strive to create a welcoming environment built upon a solid foundation of God’s Word and dedicated service in preaching and living the Gospel of Christ. We hope to have you join our fellowship so we can help each other grow in the knowledge and love of Christ.
